Journals and Newsletters

There are two main print publications that cover codebreaking and related issues:

  • Cryptologia: Founded in 1977, this is a bimonthly scientific journal primarily about crypto history. It includes many notable research papers about cryptanalysis, both historical and modern, along with the breaking of various cryptograms.
  • The Cryptogram: Bimonthly publication for members of the American Cryptogram Association (ACA). Each issue contains dozens of crypto puzzles. The vast majority are created by ACA members for their own competitions, though the publication occasionally covers some historical cryptograms.
